About the product
Pablo Picasso’s “Jacqueline with Flowers” is a captivating portrait of his second wife and muse, Jacqueline Roque, rendered in his distinctive Cubist-influenced style. Painted in the later part of his career, this work showcases Jacqueline’s elegant profile, characterized by her elongated neck and striking features. Her hair is intricately stylized, and her gaze, though in profile, conveys a sense of quiet contemplation and dignity. The vibrant blue background contrasts beautifully with the warm orange of her dress and the delicate white flowers on a green vine in the foreground, adding a touch of softness to the otherwise angular composition. Picasso’s portrayal of Jacqueline often highlighted her classic beauty and serene presence, and this painting is a prime example. The geometric simplification of forms, while still maintaining her recognizable likeness, is a hallmark of his post-Cubist portraiture, making this a timeless and elegant piece.
